Kansas Appellate Judge Passes Away

Flags at the state capitol in Topeka and all court buildings and facilities have been directed to lower flags to half-mast in memory of Kansas Court of Appeals Judge Jerry Elliot who passed away on Monday. The dictum came from Governor Mark Parkinson yesterday afternoon.

Judge Elliot had served on the Kansas Court of Appeals since 1987 when he was appointed by then Governor Mike Hayden.

The flags will remain at half-mast until after Judge Elliot’s funeral. The date of the funeral has not been made public yet.
