Furlough Friday, This Friday

This Friday court rooms all across the State of Kansas will literally be shut down…No services will be available to the public.

Because of the state budget crunch, it has been mandated by the State Supreme Court that Court Service Employees be placed on unpaid involuntary leave – or furloughed.

This Friday, April 9th is the first of 4-Fridays in April and May that the District Court offices will be shut down.

The only people allowed to come to work, the judges and they won’t be accessible because the doors will be locked and no phones will be answered.

Mitchell County District Magistrate Judge Bonnie Wilson says she will only be allowed to respond to emergency situations.
