5 injured in Jefferson County Accident

A two-vehicle crash in Jefferson County sent five people to the hospital shortly after noon on Friday.  At approximately 12:19 p.m., Jefferson County Communications was alerted to a crash at the intersection of 573 Avenue and the PWF Road.  According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a car driven by Shelby James, 17, of Endicott, was northbound on 573 Avenue and failed to yield to a pickup driven by Bernice Ebbers, 73, of Diller.  Both vehicles came to rest in the north ditch on the northwest corner of the intersection.  James’ car had three additional juvenile passengers, Seth James of Endicott, John Lewis of Jansen, and Kyler Pfingston of Fairbury.  All parties were transported to Jefferson Community Health Center in Fairbury.  Two of the injured parties were flown to a Lincoln Hospital by Air ambulance, another injured party was transported by Beatrice Fire/Rescue, one of the injured was admitted to Jefferson Community Health Center and the last party was being evaluated for injuries at the hospital.
