On April 13, 2010, Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident on the PWF near SW 89th road. A passerby observed the vehicle with no one inside of it and had blood on the interior of the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle, Neal H Roelfs of Diller, had been traveling westbound on the PWF near SW 89th Road when he went into the south ditch, traveled for a length, struck a field driveway causing the vehicle to go airborne, and then arrived at final rest on the opposite side of the driveway. Roelfs had then obtained a ride home where he was contacted by Sheriff’s Deputies from Jefferson County and Gage County.
Roelfs was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence, and driving without a seatbelt.
