Cell phones aren’t usually allowed during golf practice but on March 30th Tim Laughlin called Tanner Whiting with some amazing news. Golfing on hole 8 with a par 4, Whiting started and ended with a wonderful drive. Laughlin, Donovan Bradley, and Nathan Ramsay, who had been finishing up the hole 8, were taken off guard when a golf ball landed on the green and bounced off the flag into the hole. Many of the golfers had been working with head coach Ryan Noel when they saw Whiting on his cell phone with the good news. The majority of the team walked to the green to find Whiting’s pink golf ball in the hole. On the Waterville Golf Course there has not been a hole in one since the course had the grass greens installed. “I’m very excited and I never thought it would happen,” said Whiting.
