Kansas and Nebraska reach agreement on drivers of farm vehicles

Kansas and Nebraska have agreed to allow persons to operate farm equipment in either state without a CDL.  Under the terms of the agreement a persons from Kansas or Nebraska who has a valid driver’s license may operate a farm vehicle subject to the traffic laws of each state.  Driver’s must be 18 years of age, be operating a vehicle used exclusively to transport agricultural products, farm machinery or farm supplies to and from the farm, and must be within 150 miles of the farm.  The vehicle must be properly registered as a farm vehicle or truck, cannot be a semi tractor trailer, and cannot transport hazardous material.
