Hanover Rural Fire Chief To Speak at Kloppenberg Center

Hanover Rural Fire Chief Richard Martin will speak at the Kloppenberg Center on Friday, March 26.

Richard has been a firefighter (both rural and city) for ten years and Rural Fire Chief for four. Richard is also an EMT with the Hanover Hospital. He will bring a fire truck and some of their equipment and will explain what they do and how they work.

Richard also has coached Hanover Junior High boys basketball for the last five years, and works at Fastline Trailers in Marysville.

The program begins at 11:15 a.m. and is free to the public. If you plan to stay for the noon meal, call the Kloppenberg Center in Hanover, Kansas (785-337-2521) by 2:00 p.m. the day before, or Elvira at 337-2735 by 8:00 a.m. on Friday.

Derek Nester was born and raised in Blue Rapids, and graduated from Valley Heights High School in May of 2000. He attended Cowley College in Arkansas City and Johnson County Community College in Overland Park studying Journalism & Media Communication. After stops at KFRM and KCLY radio in Clay Center, he joined KNDY in 2002 as a board operator and play by play announcer. In 2005 Derek joined the staff of KCFX radio in Kansas City as a production coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network, which airs on over 70 radio stations across 12 Midwest states and growing.
