Hanover Kindergartener Wins State Post Card Contest

Kara Bruna Post CardRepresentative Sharon Swartz congratulated Kara Bruna – 1st grader at St. John’s Catholic School in Hanover, and her parents, Chad and Theresa Bruna. Her post card was selected the winner in the First Grade category.

More than 630 kindergarten through sixth grade students from 22 counties across the state entered this year’s contest by designing a post card around the theme “Kansas Crops: Seeds of Understanding.” Artwork was judged on relevance to the theme, creativity, originality, use of color, use of space, and clarity of idea and image. As part of the festivities, Kara and the other contest winners planted seeds. Kara chose sunflower seeds to plant.
