USD 422 Board To Hold Consolidation Meeting April 5

The USD 442 Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Monday, April 5, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the main gym of Nemaha Valley High School. This is a meeting with the public invited. School consolidation issues will be the focus of the meeting with the following presentations tentatively scheduled for the agenda.

*Donna Whiteman, Kansas Association of Schools Boards attorney and consultant on school consolidation.

*The year’s consolidation activities for the USD 442 Board of Education.

*The district’s financial and enrollment information.

*Perspective of the USD 442 Board of Education members.

*Where consolidation may be headed in Nemaha County.

*Questions from the public.

About Derek Nester

Derek Nester was born and raised in Blue Rapids, and graduated from Valley Heights High School in May of 2000. He attended Cowley College in Arkansas City and Johnson County Community College in Overland Park studying Journalism & Media Communication. After stops at KFRM and KCLY radio in Clay Center, he joined KNDY in 2002 as a board operator and play by play announcer. Derek is now responsible for the digital content of Dierking Communications, Inc. 6 radio stations. In 2005 Derek joined the staff of KCFX radio in Kansas City as a production assistant for the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network, which airs on 69 radio stations across 9 Midwest states.
