Financing Governor’s Race

How much will the campaign for the Governor’s job in Kansas cost? No way of telling with the election nearly 10-months away, but the odds-on-favorite Republican Sam Brownback, is already building a substantial war chest for the campaign.

The Senator’s campaign office says it has raised more than 1.53 –million dollars in cash contributions in 2009.

Campaign Manager David Kensinger said Brownback is grateful for contributions from thousands of Kansans during challenging economic times.

Brownback faces only token opposition in the August GOP Primary and the State Democratic Party is yet to find a standard bearer.

About Mike Schrant

Mike is one of those guys who has spent nearly a lifetime trying to figure out what he wants to do when he grows up. He has split time as a broadcaster and educator having first worked in radio in the early 1970’s while attending junior college. The two careers are directly connected because many of the 25 years as an educator were spent teaching broadcast journalism at the high school and college levels. Mike is married and has three adult children (no grandchildren yet) and enjoys sports, debating politics, gardening, landscaping-hauling rocks, and swapping stories with the "good old boys".
