Southeast CC and Nebraska-Lincoln Sign Transfer Agreement

Southeast Community College students taking selected courses in Human Services and psychology will be able to transfer those credits to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, thanks to the signing of a transfer agreement between the two schools.

Representatives from UNL’s Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies joined personnel from SCC to sign the transfer agreement, which will allow SCC students to transfer the following courses to UNL:

  • Life-span Human Development (PSYC2960)
  • Counseling Theories and Techniques (HMRS1102)
  • Assessment Case Planning and Ethics (HMRS1403 or 1405)
  • Multicultural Competency (HMRS1320)
  • Multicultural Counseling (HMRS1357)
  • Human Sexuality (HMRS2523)
  • Abnormal Psychology (PSYC2980)

Representing SCC at the signing were Dr. Jack Huck, president; Dr. Dennis Headrick, vice president for instruction; Dr. Denise Schlake, dean of the Agriculture/Food/Natural Resources and the Community Services & Resources divisions; Dr. Rose Suggett, Psychology program chair/instructor; Richard Ross, dean of the Arts & Sciences Division; and Carrie Healy, Human Services program chair/instructor.

Dr. Marjorie Kostelnik, dean of UNL’s College of Education and Human Services; Dr. Julie Johnson, Child, Youth and Family Studies department chair/professor; and Dr. Cody Hollist, assistant professor within the department at UNL, attended the signing ceremony.

The SCC courses will transfer into UNL’s Family and Consumer Sciences Professional Core and the Family Science Career Path (Human and Community Services or Family Science Research).
