KHP Thanksgiving Accident Report

With the Thanksgiving Holiday Accident Reporting Period completed, The Kansas Highway patrol has released the state accident figures fro that time frame.

According to the KHP, there were 6-fatalities in Kansas, none however, occurred in North Central Kansas. The high volume travel time produced some interesting statistics:
• 8-DUI related crashes
• 46-DUI arrests
• Nearly 1,700 speeding citations
• And 194 safety restraint citations, 54 of which were for child restraints

The holiday reporting period ran from 6:00-PM Wednesday, November 25th until Midnight Monday, November 30th.

The latest accident worked by the Highway Patrol in North Central Kansas was a one vehicle accident about 4-miles west of Russell involving a Colorado couple.

The KHP report says 67-year old Ralph J. Daloisio was westbound on I-70 when his SUV entered the median. Daloisio overcorrected and the vehicle rolled over once.

Daloisio and his passenger 58-year old Virginia M. Daloisio, both of Pueblo, Colorado, were taken to the Hays Medical Center in Hays. No information on their conditions has been released.

Both occupants were wearing their seat belts. The accident occurred late last Sunday morning.
