Holiday Displays

If you’re having trouble getting into the Christmas Spirit, here’s a suggestion to get your Ho, Ho, Ho in high gear. Take in one of the two community Christmas displays available in the area.

This year is the 10th year for the Isle of Lights at Chautauqua Park in Beloit. Ten new lighted displays, most with a military theme, are featured this holiday season.

You can take in the spectacular light show starting each evening at 6:00 o’clock.

This weekend also marks the 4th year for the Festival of Nativities in Denmark. About 150 nativities are expected to be on display at the Denmark Community Hall on Saturday 10:00-AM to 5:30-PM and again on Sunday 2:00-to-5:00-PM.

The featured nativity comes from the Philippines.

About Mike Schrant

Mike is one of those guys who has spent nearly a lifetime trying to figure out what he wants to do when he grows up. He has split time as a broadcaster and educator having first worked in radio in the early 1970’s while attending junior college. The two careers are directly connected because many of the 25 years as an educator were spent teaching broadcast journalism at the high school and college levels. Mike is married and has three adult children (no grandchildren yet) and enjoys sports, debating politics, gardening, landscaping-hauling rocks, and swapping stories with the "good old boys".
