New Prep Football Districts Annouonced

The Kansas State High School Activities Association released new district assignments for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 football seasons. The new district assignments will be as follows for our area teams.

Class 3A:

District 8 – Marysville, Riley-Riley County, Seneca-Nemaha Valley, St. George-Rock Creek.

Class 2-1A:

District 4 – Blue Rapids-Valley Heights, Centralia/Wetmore, Highland-Doniphan West, Troy, Washington-Washington Co.

Class 8-Man, Division I:

District 4 – Clifton-Clyde, Downs-Lakeside, Glasco/Miltonvale-Southern Cloud, Mankato-Rock Hills, Randolph-Blue Valley, Scandia-Pike Valley, Wakefield.

Class 8-Man, Division II:

District 1 – Axtell, Baileyville-B & B, Bern, Elwood, Frankfort, Hanover, Powhattan-Kickapoo Nation.

District 2 – Beloit-St. Johns/Tipton, Bushton-Quivira Heights, Hope, Linn, Tescott, Wilson.

About Derek Nester

Derek Nester was born and raised in Blue Rapids, and graduated from Valley Heights High School in May of 2000. He attended Cowley College in Arkansas City and Johnson County Community College in Overland Park studying Journalism & Media Communication. After stops at KFRM and KCLY radio in Clay Center, he joined KNDY in 2002 as a board operator and play by play announcer. Derek is now responsible for the digital content of Dierking Communications, Inc. 6 radio stations. In 2005 Derek joined the staff of KCFX radio in Kansas City as a production assistant for the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network, which airs on 69 radio stations across 9 Midwest states.
