Moran Signs Pledge

First District Kansas Congressman Jerry Moran got as pat on the back from a well-known conservative political group yesterday, “Let Freedom Ring”.

Moran’s “Atta-boy” comes after he signed a pledge to not vote for any health care reform package that the he has not read and that has not been available to the American public on the internet for at least 72 hours. In fact Moran was the first U.S. Congressman to sign the pledge.

“Let Freedom Ring” President Colin Hanna said. “I commend Congressman Moran for being a voice of reason and responsibility in the important discussion of health care reform. I hope more in Congress follow his footsteps.”

Moran said, “In the debate over health care reform, it is my hope that Congress will not rush a bill through with so much at stake just to get something passed. We ned to have a true exchange of ideas and a real debate on the different proposals that will bring some much needed change to our current system.”

About Mike Schrant

Mike is one of those guys who has spent nearly a lifetime trying to figure out what he wants to do when he grows up. He has split time as a broadcaster and educator having first worked in radio in the early 1970’s while attending junior college. The two careers are directly connected because many of the 25 years as an educator were spent teaching broadcast journalism at the high school and college levels. Mike is married and has three adult children (no grandchildren yet) and enjoys sports, debating politics, gardening, landscaping-hauling rocks, and swapping stories with the "good old boys".
