It looks like Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius will soon be the former Governor of Kansas. That change in status could come as soon as the end of this week.
With the Senate Committee’s vote that is scheduled for tomorrow, the full Senate should get the opportunity to vote on the Governor’s cabinet position nomination either Wednesday or Thursday.
Sebelius’ ties to abortion provider Dr. George Tiller have sparked active protests from Pro-Life groups, but are not expected to derail her nomination as Health and Human Services Secretary.
Kansas Lt. Governor Mark Parkinson would automatically become Governor if and when Governor Sebelius is confirmed.
